Once your divorce is granted by the court, the Divorce Order legally ends your marriage after it takes effect, which is 31 days after the Order is granted. While obtaining a separate Certificate of Divorce is optional and not required for the divorce itself to be final, this official document serves as crucial legal proof of your divorce for future needs. It's often required for remarriage, passport applications/renewals, updating financial/legal records, name changes, or estate matters.

Ordering certificates through us now is completely optional. After your divorce is final, you can always order them directly from the court yourself, or you can request them through us at that time. Adding them to your order during this initial application is simply offered as a convenience; we will submit the request to the court on your behalf once your Divorce Order is issued.
